Family Involvement at Pine Ridge Schools

At Pine Ridge Schools, we believe in the power of collaboration between families, educators and the community to enhance the learning experience for every child. We aim to establish strong connections between parents/guardians and the school, recognizing that family engagement is crucial for student success. Our commitment to family involvement is reflected in various initiatives:

  • Model Approaches - PRS actively researches, adopts and implements effective strategies to improve family involvement, acknowledging the essential roles families play in their children's education.
  • Community Engagement - We work to integrate community-based organizations and local businesses into family involvement activities, providing support as requested by parents.
  • Communication - PRS emphasizes the importance of continuous two-way communication between home and school, encouraging a partnership that contributes to a meaningful and productive connection between the school and the community.
  • Family Involvement Strategies - Our schools plan, implement, assess and revise effective family involvement activities to enhance academic achievement and overall school climate.

Annual Parent Meeting

Schools hold an annual meeting to inform parents about the school's status, program requirements, parental rights, assessment data and the content of the school's improvement plan. Various communication channels, such as newsletters, progress reports and conferences facilitate ongoing updates.

Parent Education and Resources

We provide access to relevant student information through the NASIS Parent Portal, along with resources on understanding assessment data, cyberbullying, health and wellness, curriculum, volunteering, Lakota culture, and more.

At PRS, we are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where families are integral partners in their child's education. Join us and let’s make a lasting impact on our students. Your involvement matters!
