Health Services at Pine Ridge Schools

Pine Ridge School maintains safe and healthy learning environments where students benefit from an educational program  that supports the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Daily nutritional meals and physical activity are the foundations of student health and encourage the successful completion of a student’s education. Pine Ridge School leadership oversees a wellness committee that administers new and existing health and safety policies and programs.

Our standards for healthy food and beverage options available at school-sponsored events allow students to receive nutritional education as they make healthier choices throughout the day. Our campus has started a “Smart Snack” initiative, where snacks and entrees must all meet general nutrition standards. Students and staff follow these guidelines to promote healthier food choices and develop safer eating habits for the next generation.

Physical activity during the school day can include outdoor recess, physical education classes, and in-classroom activity breaks. These activity breaks are essential to a student’s physical health and vitality and will not be withheld as punishment for any reason. In addition, students can participate in team sports with all academic requirements achieved.
